Hokay... here goes the latest drama...
Saw this incredibly HB at a conference out of town. It turned out we were
flying back on the same flight and surprised we work in the same complex...
so we decided to have lunch.
She was a non-stop talker, so I couldn't do much in terms of patterns, but I
mirrored her very closely... and threw in as many weasel phrases as
possible.
Afterwards she brought up the possibility of our having dinner the following
week... then started talking sex (off handed comments). Finally, she asked
if I could help her update her resume (which she emailed to me right after
lunch).
I thought we were set... here is a great HB who also has a lot in common
with me and whom I find quite incredible... so imagine my surprise when a
week passes without hearing from her. My calls and emails have gone
unanswered.
Mentally stepping back through our lunch date, she mentioned that she keeps
a low profile because she had bad experiences with stalkers and such. Well,
I realized that the resume she sent me had her home address and phone on it.
When I edited it, I moved that info from the very bottom to the top (where
it typically goes) but perhaps this kind of alerted her to the fact that I
now had her personal info and maybe that is what scared her off?
I am only speculating... but it is very frustrating if this is in fact the
problem. I thought nothing of it at the time, and obviously she didn't
either. My only recourse at this point is to either write this off as an
unavoidable loss or find some way to get a message to her that she has
nothing to fear or worry about. Damn, wimmin are so fukkkkin irrational.
Anyway, as Tony Soprano would say, whaddaya think?
My Comments: It has always been my experience that when they do all the
talking that is a clear sign that they are interested. I usually just shut
up, let them talk their little hearts out, and as soon as they bring up the
subject of sex I know absolutely that they are dead meat. My thoughts are
the following - first, you probably had to kiss close her at least that time
when you got together. It has often happened to me in the past that when
that window of opportunity has passed, it is hard to get it back. My second
thought is that my current experience has been that I just don't chase them
ever anymore, and it is not unusual for them to call back a week or longer
after the message was left. Just showing that you aren't overly anxious is
a big factor in allowing them to get comfortable. If they see that you are
frustrated by them not calling back, by your sending repeated messages or
emails, it's a sign that you're giving them too much pressure and, if they
are attractive, they have too many other options that they can pursue before
one that makes them nervous.

No, it's more you are prepared, BEFORE the event, with sort of an
"early warning radar". That is, an hour or so before something is
scheduled with an HB, be prepared for the flake or bullshit in
ADVANCE, including REHEARSING OUT LOUD what you are going to say, and what
behaviors you are going to do. TRAIN THE WAY YOU FIGHT and you will FIGHT
THE WAY YOU TRAIN!

I'm always on alert when I hear this, "I'm so busy right now, but in
a few weeks". What it says to me is that yes, it feels good, BUT THERE IS NO
(as in NONE) URGENCY! You are an option she MIGHT get
around to! That already spells trouble. Most girls can't keep any
such thought in their mind for 3 days, let alone 3 weeks, my brother!

then again, if you were getting all that you needed from you
boyfriend, you really wouldn't need to flirt with guys and tell them
you want to come visit them, would you?

My Comment: Ross, I am curious about this. I have seen you make similar
suggestions in the past and while it certainly makes sense, to me the big
question would be is this the most effective response to turn around what
she said or did and result in a successful cumclusion? There are a lot of
good tactics that are discussed here and on the SS list, but I often don't
see the follow through that results in the turnaround. I guess the question
is, what is the next step after this and/or is there another way to deal
with this if the final results are not as holesome as we would want?

A little help here folks! Yes I hear the L.A. area
probably has a highest per capita of hot looking pussy
in America. A female friend of mine who lives out
there tells me its about a 5 to 1 ratio of chycks to
guys.
Right now I'm in NYC for a while, and was wondering if
anyone knew the best places to meet some of the
hottest chycks in New York City. Manhattan is a huge
town, and yes the HB's are all over, but I'd like to
know where one could go where these HB's congregate.
Please include more than just night clubs -- any

I've been having "Okay" success with the club pick-ups. Every time I go
out, I come with at least one phone number.
But here's the part about the club pick up that I just don't understand how
Mystery makes it work, in light of the following environmental hazards:

When you go to clubs... the hot chicks aren't standing around the edges,
where it's quiet... they're near the music, around the dance floor, or
standing close enough to the band (which could be the whole damn club) that
it's just impossible to engage in any type of "storytelling."
So... I'm curious as to how you make it work? A bullhorn? ;-)
My Comment: While I don't have the hole strategy, if you had gone to
http://www.advancedmacking.com/ when I mentioned it a few emails ago, you
could have then gotten on their mailing list for their free email newsletter
"Macking Tips Newsletter" 'The lazy man's guide to one-night stands' and
there was (either in the newsletter or on the website) comments about a
couple of great tips including how the louder the club is, the better it is
for picking up (two techniques -- whispering in her ear so she has to get
close, and holding your drink at about chest level and, as you have to get
real close to whisper, you "unknowingly" -- and you have to act like you
aren't aware that you are doing it -- touch her boobs with the back of your
hand. I did this recently at a party to five women, 3 of which I have known
for awhile, and not one moved away. Not only did they not move away, I
found that there was unusually strong interest in continuing the
conversations (most notably from the ones I already knew who I usually have
more limited discussions with) and my intuition was telling me that they
were really enjoying the physical contact.

Yeah, I am the other way around a little bit. I have an AFC business partner
who has standards that are WAY too high. He uses it as a mechanism to
rationalize away why he is not approaching. Most important thing for me is
to get in front of girls and hone my stuff. First couple of approaches in
any evening I have to force, just to get into the swing. As a low risk
activity I start with 7's. I plan to pawn them later on the 9's and 10's.
Problem is that I don't have the heart to pawn them when push comes to shove
and end up just fucking them. Nevertheless, it puts me in front of one hell
of a lot of girls and gives me a lot of practice. I do hit the 9's a couple
of times a month also, but the big challenge for me is to not get caught up
in the 7's (that I think are important to start your evening with ... same
as my first ski run for the day will be a green or blue run ... rather than
over stressing myself by going straight for the double diamonds before I am
warmed up and in my rhythm).

Yeah, it is for 2 reasons that I don't give women Fridays and Saturdays.
First is they are good nights to pick up because the work-a-day crowd are
out. Secondly they are big nights for HER. Asking her to give up a Friday or
Saturday means one thing ... High pressure date. Not low key Wednesday
afternoon for a quick coffee and chat. Puts too much pressure on it from her
end and she has done too much mental preparation and set her expectations
and game plan. I like to meet with them fresh and spontaneously "Like, Hi
Chantal, Steve here from Saturday night, look I have nothing on right now,
how about we catch up for a half hour?"

This I'm OK with. I also liked some of the negs that someone recently
posted i.e. Your nose wiggles when you talk (wait for them to talk) There it
goes again. or You know I really like you but I probably wouldn't take it
any further, you're too much of a nice girl for me. I like Mystery's
attitude of being the MC. Some of the better NLP trainers talk about
training with an attitude of being a party host. This is similar.
I've actually reconsidered the hand model comment. Although, I prefer my
approach printed in a previous newsletter, I imagine the hand model could
work if it is done with humor rather than as an attempt to insult or
putdown.
Sometimes, the nonverbal things are lost on this list because it doesn't
convey the nonverbals.
Mystery, it is really cute the way you get so enthusiastic about using negs
to talk with tens. It reminds me of a high school freshman getting excited
when he talks with a senior babe. : ) LOL (Actually, I do think your
enthusiasm is cool). It took me a while to get this neg concept, but
thanks.
