LJBF / "Let's Just Be Friends"

"Let's Just Be Friends" (often "LJBF") is the situation in which one person likes another and may wish to spend time with the other, but has no romantic or sexual interest in the other. It is sometimes also used as a verb, e.g. "She LJBF'd him," meaning that she put him into the status of only being interested in him as a friend (which, in translation, doesn't even mean that and usually means a blow-off).

An opinion frequently expressed on mASF is that, once a woman has LJBF'd a man, it is very difficult (though not impossible) for him to get her to change her mind and to begin thinking of him as a potential sex partner. It is far better to not get to that point by doing things right than to try to repair a situation which is extremely difficult to turn around. In this case, getting in her pants requires long game, stretching the seduction out over time. And as usual, a key component of long game is GFTOW.

A man can also LJBF a woman. This situation is addressed less often on mASF, though, mainly because most women can collect a large number of male orbiters pretty easily. Three general conditions by which a woman will accept LJBF:

1. You fuck the snot out of her fast. She may well accept this to back-rationalize ASD.

2. You are high status (rock star, prominent leadership role, etc)

3. She is going through a major transition in her life (credit Franco?).

There is another case to discuss, it's advanced, and requires being able to gauge the amount of sexual attraction of the woman to you, and how much sexual tension exists in the relationship. Basically, if the woman is attracted to you, and you can keep the sexual tension between the two of you, what she says is irrelevant. LJBF in this context is just a shit test. You can ignore it and plow, or use the LJBF to run longer game to seduce her into more than just spreading.
