I went out to the mall and target today. My problem is I'm 22 I can't be going up to 15 or 17 year olds even giving the "Hi do you think you are someone I should get to know." without worrying about the cops. I also don't want to go after 40 somethings. Am I being to picky about my openings? I'm running into the problem that I have to gaze the crowd and by the time I see them i should have been making eye contact allready. I also can't catch up and make a propper frontal approach.
One other issue I want to ask about is oblivious and cell phone chicks. Any advice on opening someone who is on a cell phone? I started out my first time out trying the david shade eye contact method and after a while got a respons e from some girls while I was dressed down of a head jerk away and towards again as they passed. Dresed up i got girls matching my stare, but none smiled or said hi.
I'm am fairly good at conversation though I've been working to stear away from being their therapist after reading the material.
What's your advice to someone who is probably a half step below rafc Auldon

i think the 3 seconds rule is a good thing to aspire too, but i wouldnt worry about taking longer. Like the guide says, it depends on the situtation. Sometimes u gotta give them a few seconds, just be as quick as is naturally possible.
for the eye contact, i suggest trying to be a "little" silly about it. From a distance (oh i dunno, 20+ yards) be in ur default expression and just be looking in their direction at stuff. As you get closer keep recentering your focus toward them and slowing down. When you get within 5-15 yards (depending on your speed) start to try to make more of a smirk or like a semi smile....as if your holding back and waiting for them to smile first. Just as you enter earshot distance (just a second before it seems right), say "hi". You'll probably accidently time it just right or at the least shell probably know what u said and will have a few steps to reciprocate. gl

Good lord! For the age group you are trying for why dont you just drive a damn ice cream truck or hang out by the junior high school! Here is an idea, get out of the mall and hit the bar or anywhere that has girls in your own age bracket!!! The mall is not a place for a guy who is 22. I know there are HB's there, but you have no way of knowing ages. Any girl at the mall who is in her 20's is there to shop, not to hang out w/ her friends. Go get a beer and meet girls that already have their pubes!
