Hey everyone, I'm mostly a lurker around here, but I thought I would post my thoughts on something I'm doing right now to see what the community thinks. Every year my housemates & I throw a costume party for halloween... and having seen the flick "Mean Girls" a couple years back I spent the last few years in costumes meant to accentuate masculinity (just as that film advises girls to dress to their inner slut): I've been Batman, Zorro... even Don Quixote (don't ask). But this year I'm trying something a little bit different. My costume isn't hyper-masculine AT ALL: I'm dressing as a 6' Rabbit (who will be distinctly *NOT* the "Easter Bunny", sort of like Harvey from the movie of the same name (except... visible). The costume hinges on having a full on mascot suit complete with a head like what the Mickey impersonators have at Disney. My theory is that I can use the costume to establish huge amounts of Kino & Social Proof-- because I have a feeling it will not be hard to get drunk chicks (even ones with boyfriends) to hug the giant furry bunny. A few other tricks of the trade on top of this and it feels like I should be golden... does anyone have any thoughts or advice? :-)
