Is long hair a turn off to girls?  I keep mine no longer than shouldr length, and it's always kept nice and neat.  Does that really matter, or is it a turn off anyway, especially when it comes to first impressions?

I don't think long hair is a turn off. I have long hair too (less than shoulder length). Just make sure you look good in it, and from what you said - "nice and neat", it shouldn't be a problem.

But anyway, I suppose it all comes down to the individual's girl perspective. I have a female friend and she keeps telling me to cut my hair in a friendly manner.

Also, by having long hiar, you are setting yourself apart from most of the other guys, and some girls like with long hair.

Most of all, just be yourself, and try to look your best at all times. And from what this site says, remember looks are not everything in which a girl looks for.

Mh weird, I've met girls who said they liked long hairs a lot "because I like them" with no rationalization and girls who say "mmhh man must have short hair" with a moderately "eeekk-disgusted" face.

It all depends on the girl that is in front of you , she may like she may not, she may not tell you if she doesn't care or tell you to cut that bush you got over your head. Unfortunately, I like my long hair so no go baby
because I like myself the way I am, and that's not being selfish it's simply because I like the way I am.

No psyco trick here, pure simple truth.

Don't have too much knowledge on this issue, but i do have some information to pass on, from something i've read before.

Apprently Shorter (crop/military/plain) hair is seen as more masculine by women, and they are apprently more attracted to a guy with shorter  hair than longer hair.

I'm not too sure how this works in the real world, but it does kinda make sense.

so - long hair or not is basicly the question here?
having long hair once, and being in contact with many femals at that time, all I can say is:

- there are SOME women that like long hair
- MOST women DONT like long hair - many reasons why
(if you really want to know them all drop me a message, but I think most guys with long hair know them already)
- since those girls that DO like long hair DONT hate guys with short hair you can conclude that you have a chance with every girl if you have short hair AND you have less chance if you have long hair
- now, personaly I decided to cut my hair short (wasnt easy as it sounds - took me 3 months to persuade myself) because I realised this:
WHY THE HELL SHOULD I MAKE MY LIFE HARDER THAN IT HAS TO BE???

BTW The results were excelent - now I meet by far more HBs than before. All I can say to you is - fuck - the world sucks - but you still have to live in it anyway - so why not live the best you can?!?

Right on... do the best you can. I happen to be bald (due to a twist of nature, rather than by choice), and I know that most women don't like that either, but some do. And in many other cases it's not the primary factor anyway. For a long time, I didn't dare to even approach women, but finally decided: "fuck it, just go for it". To my surprise, women actually do enjoy talking to me. Maybe not HB's, but then again, I'm very green at this and HB's don't talk to other men either.

So now when I approach some girl, I try to be happy and witty, and at some point when talk drifts to, say, movies, I mention something about Bruce Willis (who is bald, or at least was) and that all women seem to think that he's so hot. Then just let her subconsciousness do the job for me. Also, I allow the woman to think that I'm bald because of my own personal choice; it makes me kinda different from most other men as well, which can be good too.

On an entirely unrelated note, I've had many men who know me at some level come up to me and congratulate me on how brave I am, and then explain how they've been trying to find the courage to shave their heads for a long time, and asking sincerily for advice on how to do it. Now if only I also managed to get women to think like that... those who do also seem to get horny about it.

So, in short, it's not the disability, it's how you carry it. Sometimes it can work to your advantage as well. And long hair is certainly not a "disability"; after all, you can at least do something about it, while I can not. If I could choose between long hair and being bald, I would take long hair, and then just cut it short. Since I know from a friend's experience that short hair really is better.

Of course, that depends on what sort of people you hang around with. I'm sure a long, jet-black hair would work well in heavy metal circles, but in techno circles it would be less than welcome. So, either you choose the crowd or a new hair style.

I notice that the girls saying I should get my haircut are hanging around me because of my hair.  I use to have long hair and am growing it out again. This is my experience. Most women like guys with long hair. Most girls don't. However the last time, I cut my hair girls stopped hanging around me.   Whenever I have had long hair I have had girls, approach me in the libary, in the grocery store, and just about any other social situation, they may like it they may not but it helped me stand out by not being Average. Otherwise I'm just Average Kenneth

I love long hair on men...never used to, but I guess being into the whole Renaissance Faire thing made me really start to appreciate it.  I think long hair on some guys (not all...some guys just don't look right with it) is really damned sexy.  Unless it's a mullet...that's just NOT cool.

I keep my hair trimmed as short as possible, NOT shaven with a razor or something like that, just trimmed. I'm telling you the girls go crazy, they wanna feel it, stroke it, the massage my scalp! they accualy start the kino!
And of course, they have let their defenses down, and come a long way
