In this case I think that it may repeat in the same way. This guy (although he
wouldn't admit it) modeled his verbal sparing technique on mine, in that I
always try to find one frame in which to put the person that I am trying to
AMOG, and then I will stick with just elaborating that frame further and
further, so that it becomes like a running joke. Extreme example: one guy kept
AMOGing me, so I labeled him as a strange hybrid animal based on some very
loose reasoning (I always ignore reasoning and just persistently use emotive
descriptive language, metaphors and analogies until they start back pedaling or
buying into the frame). I kept going with this frame for a couple of months,
and his nick name is still 'The MonkeyDog' over two years later. So I really
want to destroy this groupie frame before I allow my rival to escalate.

I am usually excellent at this kind of sparing, and the chicks were mainly
laughing at him, but I still felt like I was buying into his frame. I tried
telling him replies along the lines of 'Sure I will be your groupie, as soon as
you learn to play music give me a call', and when he persisted 'of coarse I
will be your groupie oh magnificent one, when can I suck on your nob oh mighty
(myfriend)'.

His default response seems to be loud sarcasm, and he has an ego big enough to
absorb almost anything I say to him. He says nothing particularly clever,
merely holds his frame steady. I used the ongoing frame that I have put him in
as well: I call him pinochio because he has a big nose, he is a liar and he has
a wooden personality. When he said that I must look up to him I said that 'I
could hardly look down to a nose that tall, could I'. The crowd laughs, but he
shrugs off all my good material with louder bullshit. It is annoying because I
used to be able to beat him with hardly any effort and now he has the upper
hand just through volume and persistence. It is like caveman AMOG tactics, and
even if I get a lot more laughs he still appears to win.

I think that maybe the best options are to either totally rip into him with my
pinochio frame and other outright insults which are grounded in reality (but
that is risky and not generally in my character), or to go and talk to other
people and get him to chase my attention again, which I think he might well do
(because I am kind of the entertainer of the group and this guy likes the
spotlight, so really he is more reliant on me than he would like to admit).
Maybe I should model his loud sarcasm style, or do impressions of him, or I
don't know what. I think I probably am giving this guy too much importance:
forget the guy, I could be chatting up the chicks. Maybe I will post a follow
up if he brings it up again next Sunday.
