When things are already happening around you, you should switch off your
analytical mind and just go with the flow. That seems to be what happened here.
If you stand around bored, you will start to self-talk, and apparently your
self-talk is pretty negative. Analytical thinking works great when it is
applied to the future or past, but it's very slow; if you try to apply it to
the present, you will always go wrong, and make hasty, bad judgements.
