OK, there are alphas and betas. What I haven't seen discussed is the existence
of GAMMA males. If alphas are the natural leaders, the dominant personalities,
and betas are followers and wannabes, gammas are those who stand outside this
hierarchy. They don't try to compete because they see themselves as above or
disconnected from competitive social dynamics.. Gammas are archetypal lone
wolves, and often are the ?cool? geeks, the philosophers, artists, and
scientists. They make up only about 2.5% of the population.
How does this relate to PU interactions? Any thoughts from the gammas out
there? I think a lot of guys on asf are gammas, NOT natural betas. That's
because gammas are more likely to think outside the square and ?get? SS ideas.
They are used to observing social conventions from the outside, and sometimes
want in. That's my experience ? being extremely independent and proud in my own
little world, I didn't want to play those social games, and thought that women
should see my superiority and come my way. Didn't happen very often though! So
now I'm learning to make it happen.
The above info such as gammas being 2.5% comes from assorted web references,
which I haven't got access to right now. But here's one article which talks
about the three types from the point of view of romantic fiction/movies.

I think that a lot of gammas show AFC behaviour just like betas, but their
underlying psychology is different and this must make a difference to their
approach to the game. Any thoughts?
