Yes, it is in many NLP books ... and in Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins. Even
if you don't explain to the chick how eye accessing cues work, they can be a
very useful calibration tool to tell how the person is feeling and thinking
about what you are saying as you engage them. I used to worry about using the
right words e.g. V-A-K to meet the person but that is overkill, in my
experience. More useful is watching how they process and using that information
to give them time to feel/imagine/hear what they need to feel/hear/imagine.
Also this information tells you whether your stories are hitting home - e.g. if
you are giving a visual description and you can check if she is following along
with you.

It's not 100% accurate, but still a very useful understanding to have. For
inducing trance a useful technique is to take a person from what they are doing
in the moment e.g visualising (you lead them to this or notice they are doing
it spontaneously as you engage them) and lead them to another form of
processing e.g auditory or feelings. This induces an altered state. A person
who can lead in this way can be perceived as having value. It can also
unconsciously let the chick know you are the kind of person who is exceptional
because when she is with you she has an expanded sense of possibility. Almost
no one else in her life can affect her in this way. (Good thing).
