I totally disagree. Firstly, although we like to think of workshops as a
service to the community - first and foremost they are a business.

When you apply to college/university, you pay your money in return for 3 years'
tuition. The college/university will screen for students under the criteria
that they a) have the necessary background and intellectual ability to at least
PASS the course with the required effort, and b) are willing to learn and
contribute.

Why should workshops/seminars be any different?

I personally do not want to take a workshop with a load of super-negative AFC's
who aren't even willing to try and beat their approach anxiety. Nor do I want
to sit in a seminar with someone who has got entirely the wrong idea of the
"alpha atttiude" and sits at the back trying to AMOG-destroy the instructors
(this has happened at RSD before). I'm actually surprised that nothing more
serious has happened - afterall, there are some serious WEIRDOs who have posted
here in the past, many of whom I would NOT like to encounter in a workshop
setting.

In my opinion, workshops SHOULD screen out people who are going to negatively
affect the workshop with their attitude or behaviour. Workshops will run more
smoothly, and be more productive for those willing to learn, as a result of
this.

Mystery stated years ago that his workshop is only for people willing to learn
his method and experiment with it IN-FIELD. I wholeheartedly agree.
