context to why your asking, even it's just, "I was thinking about this the
other day..." Or, "My friend and I were having an argument."
At the same time, don't take the opener too seriously. It's not like you're
trying run some kind of scam and seriously deceive her into thinking you're
only asking cause you need whatever opinion. It's just an excuse for her to
talk to you. Don't dwell on it. 30 seconds is pretty reasonable, then jump to
something else.
Jlaix's openers, Thug Lovin and My Little Pony, are my favorite BECAUSE they
are so random and totally off the wall. It's like a pattern interrupt
almost--definitely not what they were expecting. And it usually gets them
cracking up cause it's playful and funny and obviously not serious.
As for daytime, I haven't done any, but I'm thinking an opinion opener is your
best bet.
