*nod* Cialdini's book will give you great insight. High recommend it.

The selfish gene is very useful in understanding human behaviour however
Dawkins' philosophy of life is a bit off. The book essentially advocates no
G-d and you can see throughout the book parts where Dawkins' is ridiculously
close-minded and arrogant. He's essentially solved "the meaning of life"
through this book so just take bits and pieces. Its a book that can make you
easily pessimistic about society if you buy into it.
Having read a lot of evolutionary theory and all the books Mystery
recommends I can see why he thinks there is no G-d. Reading select books
will always give you a select point of view. This is a little off topic for
seduction but books like the Selfish Gene and The Virus of the Mind (my
favourite book) can really mess with how you see life. If you're feeling
disillusioned/pessimistic I suggest reading a little Quantum Physics and the
subject of Altruism in psychology. Reading books by Deepak Chopra, Wayne
Dyer and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj will also allow you to realise how the
'selfish gene' theory is a subset of a much larger body of knowledge.
