If you are going to rim it helps to have hard liquor available. There are no doubt cynics who would say it is to ply the girl to be receptive. Actually my reason for the recommendation is that nasty infections can result from licking the vagina after the anus unless the mans mouth and womans anus are properly disinfected. first off...don't tongue thrust your tongue way way in there right off the start...
